WINTER TIME: May-August
Southern bluefin tuna are on fire at the moment, its so good its almost a guarantee that you will get your catch limit, if you ever toyed with the idea of tuna fishing don't wait now is the time.
Winter is great for calamari and we are catching a lot, August - October is the time to catch really big ones
We are fast approaching the new port phillip bay snapper season. there are starting to be a few big ones getting caught, And as usual the smaller ones are in very good numbers and are so much fun as we try and keep up with their ferocious bite on a lot of these cool evenings and mornings
KING GEORGE WHITING
We have been blessed with an unusually good whiting bite so far this season and cant see any reason for it to stop. some of the numbers have been incredible as well as some very good sizes and they are going well in both bays.
As usual the reefs have all got plenty of bluethroats and other wrasse, leatherjackets and the famous and delectable sweep. All are in great numbers however weather and swell will not allways be good at this time of year for us to target the sweep in very close to the shore
Gummy shark is here all year ,however the warmer months are the most productive. December- April has been our favourite time
